The classic editor is a common editor that wordpress.org users use every day to publish their ideas. It contains 2 mode:
- Visual editor
- Text editor
Both editor is also convert the content to the HTML code and display it on your website.
Reasons of some bug on your WordPress site:
- install or uninstall some concern plugins
- changes or remove some viral code “.php” or “.js” file on your wordpress folder
- have full of cache on you browser
- update your WordPress version
- you have to move hosting from cPanel or some hosting like that to Cloudflare…
One of these above change on your site, your blog maybe make changes on your WordPress Dashboard not just one problems. And a problem you will see it when you make changes or do some interacts to your site like above is the Visual Editor is not working like common on WordPress. Look to this picture:

Fix the Visual Editor not working on WordPress
1. Clear caches on your Browsers
Most browser you use every day is Chrome and FireFox, so take these steps to Clear caches on your local browser.
On Chrome:
- Open a new tab, come to upper-right site of the Chrome, click to “3 dots”
- Choose options “Settings”
- Come to tab “Privacy and Security” > “Clear browsing data” > click to “Clear data” button
On Firefox Mozilla:
- Also like Chrome, select “3 horizontal lines” on top-right of the Mozilla
- Go “Privacy and Security”
- Scroll to “Cookies and site data” > “Clear data”
Return to your Dashboard writing post and check
2. Reselect or reinstall the Classic Editor
Follow these step:
- Step 1: Go to “Dashboard” on WordPress
- Step 2: Hover the “Plugins” > “Installed Plugins”
- Step 3: Reactive your Classic Editor and Select “Settings”
- Step 4: Select the Classic Editor of “Default editor for all users” like below picture
- Step 5: Save your changes and come over to check
3. Install the “Really Simple SSL” Plugins
- Step 1: Go to “Dashboard” > “Plugins” > “Add new”
- Step 2: Searching for “Really Simple SSL” Plugins like below or click here
- Step 3: Activate the plugins following the instructions
And maybe the bug WordPress Visual Editor caused by you moving site from other hosting to Cloudflare and reinstall the “SSL” on the site.
