- Description: Error in startup
- Causes: – The detected temperature of the thermistor does not reach 35 deg C within approx. 1.5 sec of the heater being turned on. – The detected temperature of the thermistor is 100 deg C or lower in standby mode.
- Solutions: – Check connectors on the fixing film unit. – Replace the fixing film unit. – Replace the engine controller PCB.
- Code: E001
- Description: Error in abnormally high temperature
- Causes: The detected temperature of the thermistor is 220 deg C or higher 30 times consecutively.
- Solutions: – Check connectors on the fixing film unit. – Replace the fixing film unit. – Replace the engine controller PCB.
- Code: E003
- Description: Error in abnormally low temperature
- Causes: – After the heater is turned on, the detected temperature of the thermistor is 100 deg C or lower at the time of printing after reaching 50 deg C. – After the heater is turned on, the detected temperature of the thermistor is 55 deg C or lower at paper intervals or in cleaning mode after reaching 50 deg C.
- Solutions: – Check connectors on the fixing film unit. – Replace the fixing film unit. – Replace the engine controller PCB.
- Code: E004
- Description: Error in fixing heater drive circuitry (For 200V machines only)
- Causes: An abnormal frequency is detected on the fixing drive circuit within approx. 3.3 sec of the power being turned on.
- Solutions: – Check connectors on the fixing film unit. – Replace the fixing film unit. – Replace the engine controller PCB.
- Code: E100
- Description: Error in Scanner Unit
- Causes: – At startup of the scanner, /BDI signal cannot be detected within 0.1 sec after forced acceleration of the scanner motor. – At startup of the scanner during activation of the scanner motor, the motor rotation exceeds the range of specified value (98.3 to 102.1%). – After startup of the scanner is correctly completed, /BDI signal exceeds the specified cycle 10 times consecutively.
- Solutions: Check connectors on the scanner unit – Replace the scanner unit. – Replace the engine controller PCB
- Code: E196
- Description: Error in DCON communication
- Causes: An error in data communication occurs in the Main controller.
- Solutions: – Replace the engine controller PCB
- Code: E733
- Description: error in Engine communication
- Causes: An error in data communication occurs in the Engine controller.
- Solutions: – Turn OFF and then ON the power. – Replace the Engine Controller PCB.
- Code: E747
- Description: Error in main controller memory
- Causes: Data of EEPROM on the main controller cannot be read/written.
- Solutions: – Replace the main controller PCB

– Canon Service Tool V5610 is a tool used to perform maintenance on Canon printers and reset Canon printers after replacement of parts such as replacing ink absorbents, print heads, printer mainboard, and others. Based on the many cases we have encountered, the Service Tool is most often used to reset ink absorber counter value when the waste ink absorber is full.
– The ink absorber is going to be full of box, it has to be replaced or cleaned the waste ink absorber. Also, replaceing or cleaning the waste ink absorber, you need to repair or reset the waste ink counter value, cause those parts are concerned to each others.
– So using Canon Service Tool V5610 to reset the waste ink counter value becomes effective when the ink absorber is replaced or cleaned.
– Canon Service Tool V5610 can use to fix error code 5B00, 5B02, 5B04, 5B14, 1701, 1702, 1700 on your printer. You must enter Service Mode on your printer to use this Canon Service Tool.
– If the printer can not enter Service Mode, you can not reset it by Canon ST V5610. In this case, change EEPROM on the logic board.

Enter Service Mode on Canon Printer
1. Turn off a printer.
2. Press and hold the Resume/Cancel/Stop button.
3. Press and hold the ON button (do not release both buttons).
4. Release the Resume/Cancel/Stop button (do not release the ON button).
5. While holding the ON button, press the Resume/Cancel/Stop button 5 times, then release both the ON and Resume/Cancel/Stop buttons together.
